2 DAY INTENSIVE WORKSHOP
Day 1 — Saturday May 23, 10:00 - 4:00pm
We begin with a free-standing, site-responsive installation, approaching the hedge as a landscape with emphasis on density and mass. This is an active, physical day of making—working with large branches and foraged materials to build a vast collective form.
Participants will be guided through the materials we’ve gathered, with attention to their seasonal qualities, ecological roles, and the particularities of working with invasive species. Through hands-on construction, we’ll execute techniques and mechanics for building structure, stability, and flow within large-scale compositions.
Lunch and refreshments will be served midday. All tools will be provided.
Day 2 — Sunday May 24, 12:00 - 4:00pm
On our second day, we translate the hedge onto the tabletop—reconfiguring it as an intimate look inside the broader habitat. Working from an elevated vantage, we will engage newly introduced seasonal materials selected for their delicacy, texture, and uniqueness. Our table will burn bright with the season's best specialty flowers.
This session offers a quieter, more focused approach to arrangement, where gesture, composition, and subtle shifts in form come into sharper view. It’s an opportunity to deepen your relationship to the materials and carry forward techniques from Day 1 in a different register.
We’ll close our Sunday session with a toast and light snacks.
Participants will take home their very own professional-grade floral secateurs and an armful of flowers, branches and blossoms.
